When I first heard Carmen Keigans at Jammin Java in Columbia, South Carolina. As soon as I heard her voice from the mic at the front of the room I stopped my conversation, turned and faced her. This was 2003 and she was singing with her band I Nine for the first time at Jammin Java (and I think it was their first time outside Orangeburg, SC).
I stared and listened, enraptured. I tend to have an ear for voices that will "make it." I turned back to whomever I was talking to and I said "Do you hear that? That is the voice of woman who will take that band to the top."
So without further introduction, ladies and gentlemen, I Nine with "Seven Days of Lonely."

Culpeper House Closing
Over the next 3 months, we will all be going our separate ways. Some of us may reform in one house or the other as something unrelated to Culpeper House as we know it. And we may be open to having others move in there. It has been a unique experiment. Keep in touch everyone!
